The Australian Competition committee deals with competitive matters
relating to Paragliding, Hang Gliding and Weightshift Microlights. The
competition committee is a subcommittee of the HGFA.
The aims of the competition committee are:
- To provide a safe and structured pathway for pilot development from
entry level fly-ins through to elite level competitions.
- To achieve and maintain (for Australian pilots) a high standard of
competitive performance at international competitions.
- To determine national champions in all classes.
- To provide the base data for determining a national pilot ranking
system (The National Ladder).
- To encourage fun, skill improvement and increased participation.
- To assist in the promotion of the sport.
